Suffers apparent serious leg injury

One man was sent to hospital with a serious leg injury Wednesday night after he was struck by a car on Queen’s Road in St. John’s.

The collision happened at a crosswalk near Balsam Street just before 7:30 p.m., leaving the injured male lying on the crosswalk until first responders could arrive.

The driver of the car was standing nearby as the man was tended to by emergency personnel.

The RNC is investigating.
