LABRADOR CITY, N.L. — Three of the four employees involved in an incident on the railway outside of Labrador City have been released from hospital, as of press time. The Iron Ore company of Canada (IOC) issued a statement on March 15 saying the third person had been released and that regular activities resumed on the railway that morning, with investigations into the incident ongoing.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said at about 10:15 a.m. they were called to an incident on the highway between Labrador City and Churchill Falls. The four IOC employees were sent to the Labrador West Health Centre with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.
IOC said the incident occurred during maintenance work on the railway.
