HOLYROOD, N.L. — A passenger was taken to hospital and treated for a serious injury after being ejected from a vehicle that crash on the Trans-Canada Highway Monday morning.
According to a news release issued by Holyrood RCMP, the accident happened shortly before 8:20 a.m. on a stretch of the highway between the Brigus Junction and Veterans Memorial Highway exits.
Police said the passenger was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred. While serious, the injury was not life-threatening.
An analyst from RCMP Traffic Services attended the collision and the investigation is continuing.
The RCMP reminds the public the importance of wearing a seat belt at all times.
