HARBOUR GRACE, N.L. — Royal Canadian Mounted Police service dog Kaos was instrumental in tracking down the suspect of a break and enter at Buckie’s Bar in Tilton, Spaniard's Bay early Thursday morning.

Police arrived at the scene around 1 a.m. and found a vehicle with extensive damages as well as significant damages to the building.

Kaos was called in to search the area and quickly tracked 53-year-old suspect Kevin Slade of Carbonear to a wooded area. He's since been charged with break and enter.

The RCMP investigation determined that Slade had an accomplice in 30-year-old Robert Crawford, also of Carbonear. He was subsequently arrested.

Further investigation led police to pursue additional charges against Slade for a break and enter into Powell’s Supermarket that occurred on Oct. 27, 2019.

Both men remained in custody and were set to appear in provincial court today.
