Firefighters made quick work of an overnight fire at a commercial storage yard in Mount Pearl early Friday morning.
When the St. John's Regional fire department arrived on scene at the yard on Commonwealth Avenue just before 4:30 a.m., a tractor stored in the yard was fully engulfed in flames. It was sitting next to a number of other vehicles stored in the yard, including a school bus.
Firefighters had the blaze under control in minutes but not before the tractor was destroyed.
No information was available as to how the fire started or how much damage was done, if any, to nearby property.
