CLARENVILLE, N.L. —  “You can’t make the world a better place if there’s no world to do it in!”
The protests rang out in conjunction with the Global Climate Strikes on Friday, Sept. 27.
At Clarenville Middle and High Schools, students assembled with signs, a megaphone and plenty of intent as they shouted their displeasure with climate change and government’s perceived inaction on the issue.
Middle School students were joined by teacher Dan Oates who told The Packet that ethics was a portion of the curriculum of the Religion class he teaches.
He says many of those who chose to protest Friday morning were inspired by environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who is only 16 years old.
