Meetings being held in Port Hope Simpson and Cartwright to discuss the recently released document 'What We Heard: A Discussion on the Newfoundland And Labrador Inshore Fishery'

PORT HOPE SIMPSON, N.L. —

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans will host meetings in Port Hope Simpson and Cartwright on May 7. According to a press release from DFO, the meetings are for inshore harvesters and other interested stakeholders in Division 2J to discuss matters of concern in the inshore fisheries.

DFO said their primary goal is to discuss the recently released document 'What We Heard: A Discussion on the Newfoundland And Labrador Inshore Fishery', a compilation of the issues raised at last year's outreach meetings and to hear any new concerns that harvesters may want to bring forward.

The meeting in port Hope Simpson will take place at 9 a.m. at Alexis Hotel and the Cartwright meeting is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the LFUSCo boardroom.
