Finley Deeley believes he has the ideal summer job to help prepare him for the theatre course he will be pursuing in Fine Arts at Grenfell in Corner Brook.
Not only is he portraying an American Police officer but also the part of the ghost of Col. Leonard E. Edington, the last base commander to serve on the Ernest Harmon Air Force Base from 1965-66.
In the latter role he tells a series of stories on the Base Commander’s “Tales on the Trail", part of the Friendly Invasion activities by The Stephenville Destinations Committee beginning this week.
Deeley was noticed during his portrayal of a colonel in the show “The Day Elvis Came to Stephenville", was asked to apply for the new roles and landed the part.
Friendly Invasion events kick off with a parade at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, forming up at St. Stephen’s parking lot and proceeding to Blanche Brook Park where the festivities continue with a band and barbecue.
