HOLYROOD, N.L. —

A pair of dirt bikes were impounded and their drivers charged after police spotted them driving dangerously on the main road in Holyrood.

On April 27, Holyrood RCMP were conducting patrols on Route 60 in the community when two dirt bikes were observed doing wheelies on the main roadway. The officer activated his emergency equipment and attempted to stop the bikes, however the drivers fled the area.

A subsequent investigation revealed the identity of the individuals and police located the two vehicles at a residence in Seal Cove. Both bikes were impounded and the drivers, an 18-year-old and 20-year-old, were charged under the Highway Traffic Act. Their driving licences were also suspended for seven days.
