Four men associated with St. Thomas Aquinas School in Port au Port East took a plunge into the cold waters of Port au Port Bay at The Gravels this afternoon, all part of a fundraiser for technology equipment at the school. Here from left: Michael Philpott, teacher; Const. Stefan Nissen, RCMP officer who is liaison with the school; Blair Howlett, teacher; and Corey Ivany, principal, are seen making their way toward the shore with a crowd of enthusiastic students cheering them on. As of the “plunge” $3,200 of a goal of $4,000 was collected. More money is expected to come in.
