STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — The Stephenville town council approved 15 finance items at its regular general meeting on Thursday at noon hour.
- Accounts payable – March 2019 – $336,866.79, of which $222,279.00 was for upgrades at Stephenville Dome to upgrade heating system.
- 80’s Summer Camp – grant for event at Stephenville Dome on July 20 – $1,725.
- Hillside Cemetery Committee – grant for year 2019 – $15,000.
- Newfoundland and Labrador Tae Kwon Do Association – grant to host provincial black belt exams in Stephenville during its 45th Anniversary – $1,000.
- Royal Canadian Legion – Town of Stephenville purchase ad in annual military service recognition book – $640.
- Provincial Fence Products – award of tender for baseball field fencing to lowest bidder – $34,019 plus harmonized sales tax.
- Boyd & Bungay Construction – award of tender for baseball field infield mix to lowest bidder – $17,400.00 plus harmonized sales tax.
- Hippocampe – Town of Stephenville give approval for the purchase of all-terrain wheelchair – $8,260.95.
- Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Municipal Police and Enforcement Officers – grant for a presentation from the Association for New Canadians on Cultural Diversity – $500.
- Poll tax write-offs – $688.72.
- Property tax write-offs – $5,779.49.
- Water and sewer adjustments - $504.00.
- Remission of tax – $8,026.13 and refunds – $301.82.
- Business tax adjustments – $5,552.86.
