Other than a few vehicles getting stuck in drifted up snow on Massachusetts Drive in Stephenville, the town was believed to have fared out well from the storm that raged Thursday evening into this morning.

Mike Campbell, town manager, said just prior to 9 a.m. that all streets had been cleared and that traffic was moving along fine.

There wasn’t believed to be any major damages in the town brought on by the winds that gusted up to 102 km/h according to weather personnel at Stephenville airport.

The only power outage on Newfoundland Power’s website in the Stephenville to Port aux Basques area was in the Codroy Valley area that started at 7:48 a.m. and is estimated to be repaired by noon hour today. It is affecting Millville, Cape Anguille and Shoal Point.

The outage was brought on by severe weather conditions.
