BAY ROBERTS, N.L. — A street bike driver was charged in Bay Roberts after police allegedly caught him performing a wheelie.
According to a news release issued Friday, June 14, while an RCMP officer was conducting a traffic stop in the community, a street bike drove by at a high rate of speed doing a wheelie. The officer concluded the initial traffic stop and stopped the street bike for stunting.
The driver, a 26-year-old man from Carbonear, was charged with performing a stunt and for operating a vehicle with an improper class of licence. Police suspended his driver's licence and impounded his motorcycle.
