On Monday, Dec. 10 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Whitbourne RCMP received an anonymous tip of a man who was staggering as he was walking back to his vehicle and was thought to be impaired.
Police attended and conducted a traffic stop on the described vehicle.
A 54-year-old man from Grand Falls-Windsor was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and provided breath samples more than four times the legal limit.
His vehicle has been seized and impounded and his driver’s licence was suspended. He is currently being held in custody and will be released with a court date to answer to impaired driving charges.
