An Indiana man fired shots into a mobile home park, then tried to flee the scene by ordering an Uber as his getaway car, police in that State say.
Issa Amer Ishtawi, 20, originally attempted to flee the scene on foot according to police but was later spotted in an Uber by officers, who pulled over the vehicle and removed the suspect from the backseat. He was then placed in handcuffs.
The initial investigation indicated Ishtawi allegedly forced his way into a mobile home and fired his weapon. Ishtawi then allegedly dragged the resident of the mobile home outside while continuing to fire shots, with one bullet hitting a man – who was still inside the mobile home – in his left foot, police wrote on Facebook.
Police searched the ride-share vehicle and found a Glock .40 underneath the passenger seat, investigators said.
The ride-share driver “was very cooperative and shook up by the entire incident,” Fox News reported.
Ishtawi faces at least six initial charges, including aggravated battery with a handgun, battery, intimidation, criminal recklessness with a handgun, possession of a pistol without a permit and possession of marijuana.
