Austin Ernest Snooks

Lark Harbour, NL It is with great sorrow that the family of the late Austin Ernest Snooks announce his passing at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Tuesday, Mar. 19, 2019 at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Jean Elizabeth Snooks of 52 years; his son Larry Nelson Snooks; his daughter Laura Susan Sheppard (Terry); one precious grandson Matthew Sheppard; his siblings: Myrtle Byrne (Gerry Pike), Shirley (Pat) Hynes, Ray (Sharon) Snooks, Irene (Don) Shapcott, Ruben (Jackie) Snooks, Ruby Sheppard (Paul Fitzgerald), Ricky (Cindy) Snooks, and Susan (Boyd) Rowsell; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Austin was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Susan Snooks; his three brothers: Guy, Hayward, and Calvin Snooks; and his sister Rowena. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Friday, March 22, 2019 and Saturday, March 23, 2019 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm from where the funeral service will take place from the Country Haven Chapel on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Cremation to follow and interment to take place at a late date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted and/or memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross, the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of one’s choice.
