It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dawson Cain Lovell announce his peaceful passing at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Dawson leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife Iris of 61 years; beloved children: Warrick (Charlotte), Wanda (Ian), Lorne (Roma), and Sonny; wonderful grandchildren: Lori Blanchard (Rich), Lorna Lovell (Fabian), Sean Griffin, Lorne Lovell (Emily), and Dawson Lovell; precious great-grandchildren: Gabrielle Blanchard, Gavin, and Garrett Lovell, Brittany Fudge, and Madison Brake, as well as a couple old fishing friends Luke and Eunice Lawrence, Curt and Ula Park and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends. Dawson was predeceased by his parents Henry and Rose Lovell, his grandson Ronnie Griffin and his great-granddaughter Janelle Blanchard. Visitation for family and friends took place at the Epiphany Anglican Church in McIvers on Monday, March 26th from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm from where funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 27th at 2 pm with Rev. Mario Melendez officiating. Interment to follow at Anglican Cemetery McIvers. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful nurses at the Palliative Care Unit at WMRH for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
