Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Derrick Caravan announce his sudden passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the age of 64 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Sharon of 43 years; his children: Cheri (Rick) and Kris (Sarah); his grandchildren: Samantha, Kyle, Chiara, Kaleb, Kason and Abby; his great-grandson and his shadow, Kayden; his siblings: Brenda (Bob), Glennis (Gord), Vonnie (Harvy) and Lisa. Derrick was predeceased by his parents Otto and Louise Caravan. Derrick was a proud brother of the local Corner Brook Masonic Lodge #11 in Corner Brook. He was also known for his love for music playing in many bands over the years. He could also play many different instruments like the accordion and guitar and pretty much anything he decided to pick up and play. Derrick spent 20+ years as a local Letter Carrier in Corner Brook from which he retired from. You would also see Derrick out to all of the malls as something he would love to do in his spare time. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Oakland United Church, 6 Oakes Road on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Alice Moores officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted and/or memorial donations can be made to the local Corner Brook Masonic Lodge #11.
