Dorothy Doyle

Dorothy Doyle
1922-2019 It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Dorothy Doyle announce her passing at the age of 96 years on February 2, 2019 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was a kind, loving, gentle and modest lady who will be missed greatly by all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life. She was the essence of gentility. Never a cross word spoken. She loved her family dearly and did more than anyone will ever know for each and every one of them. She always put her family and others, before herself. Not because she should, but simply because that is who she was. She loved drives on a nice day, slow walks up to the Sweet Shop, camping and blueberry picking with James, a good game of crib, spending time with her family and the comfort of her own home, in one of her favorite full aprons. She made some of the best Bird’s Nests, Brownies, ‘Potatoes Fried Flat in the Pan’ and Hot Fresh Bread, you’ll ever know. She loved a good joke and had a great sense of humor. She was very witty, but showed it in her quiet, gentle way. She was intelligent and so quick with numbers, but yet so very modest when given a compliment on any of her attributes. She loved the music she heard from her family and one of her favorite songs “Coat Of Many Colors” meant so much to her. She was happy when she knew her family were happy. She was patient, strong, loyal, compassionate and courageous. She fought a hard battle, but with complete grace, dignity, kindness and love throughout. She made a HOUSE a HOME. She was a rock, but yet the softest and safest place to fall. She had the best ear to listen and an absolute heart of gold. Her family’s lives will now be changed forever, but she will never leave their hearts, minds or souls. She will be with them in so many ways and will watch over them now in her own gentle, loving way. Leaving to mourn with so many wonderful memories, her two sons: Tom Doyle of Kippens and Vernon (Betty) Doyle of Goulds, her four daughters: Doreen Doyle (Sandy Keeping), Pat Irene Doyle and Kathy Doyle (George Lucas) all of Stephenville and Diane Doyle (Paul Noseworthy) of Kippens. Also leaving to mourn her sister Tillie O’Neill of Kippens, sister-in-law Annie White of O’Regans, sister-in-law Eileen Doyle of Corner Brook, brother-in-law Leonard (Kay) Doyle of St. Andrews, grandchildren Tola (Jeff) Hulan and Tom Doyle Jr., both of Kippens, Maci (Calvin) Barry of Stephenville, Holly Doyle of Goulds, Jessica Doyle of Vancouver, great-grandchildren Emily Hulan and Abby Hulan, both of Kippens, very special and loving caregivers Patsy Frank and Lisa Marche, both of Stephenville and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband James Doyle, four brothers, three sisters, daughter-in-law Pat Doyle and parents Catherine and Placide White. Visitation will take place at Russell’s Funeral Home on Sunday, February 3rd from 7-9 pm and on Monday, February 4th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place at St. Stephen’s Parish on Tuesday, February 5th at 2 pm. Interment to follow at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery. Flowers graciously accepted or donations to a charity of one’s choice.
