Elizabeth Sarah Benoit

Port au Port East, NL It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth Benoit announce her passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Regina McIsaac, Lenny Benoit (Debbie) and Ivy Benoit; her grandchildren: Carly, Shane, Leah, Sara, Lydia, Kayla, Brandon, Johnathan and Candice; her 56 long term foster children and numerous other foster children that were entrusted to her for motherly care and guidance; her sisters: Rosie Nodine (Danny), Marylyn Simon (Wayne) and Doreen Fields (Steve); her brothers: Caron Retiffe (Mary), Thomas Retiffe and Bobby Retiffe (Charmaine); and also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Wilfred; her parents: Thomas and Laura Retiffe; and her son Jody Benoit. At Elizabeth’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation. A funeral Mass will be held from the Maria Regina Roman Catholic Parish, Port au Port East on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 1 pm with Father Chris officiating. Interment to follow at the Port au Port East Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers can be sent to the Maria Regina Roman Catholic Parish in Port au Port East.
