Halfway Point, NL It is with great sorrow that the family of the late Frances Marie Hackett announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in her 92nd year. She will be sadly missed by her four sons: Austin (Vera) of Halfway Point, Bill of Medicine Hat, Gordon (Elaine) of Halfway Point, Frank of Alberta; four daughters: Jean (Dave) Locke of Halfway Point, Dora (Kevin) Ottenbreit of Alberta, Imelda of Benoit’s Cove and Sheila (Allan) Henderson of British Columbia; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Bride Greene, Veronica (Bellows) Green and Noreen Hackett; brother-in-law Ronald Greene; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Captain Raymond Hackett; her sons: James and Raymond, Jr., and her infant daughter Anne; her parents: Martin and Mary Fewer, as well as all her siblings. The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to the staff at WMRH, the nurses on the Palliative Care Unit and to Dr. Young for the care provided to our mother during her time of need. As per her wishes, cremation has already taken place. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, on Tuesday, February 20th from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21st, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of The Sea Roman Catholic Church in Benoit’s Cove with Father Jim Robertson officiating. The interment will follow at the Church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cuddle Bed Project for the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital. “Forever In Our Hearts”
