HICKS Gerald Corner Brook, NL It is with sadness that the family of the late Gerald Lloyd Hicks announce his passing at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook, on Thursday July 4th, 2019 at the age of 88. The family would like to thank the doctors and hardworking nurses who cared for our Dad in his last months. We would especially like to thank his friend and physician Dr. O’Driscoll for his many years of care and assistance to our father. Gerald was born on Reid Street and lived his entire life in Corner Brook. After retirement, he and his wife served a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico where they made many lasting friendships. When their children were younger, they enjoyed summer holiday travels. Amongst other adventures, they travelled to the 1965 World’s Fair in New York City. After his wife’s passing, eight years ago, he served a Temple Mission in the Halifax Nova Scotia Temple where he was well loved. He is survived by his four children: Larry (Debbie) of Halifax, Graham of Corner Brook, Stephen (Mary) of St. John’s and Barry (Cathie) of Carbonear, and ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
