ABBOTT Loretta Diana 1949-2019 It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Loretta Diana Abbott (nee Duffy) announce her sudden passing after a very brief but courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 17th, 2019 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, at the age of 69 years old. She will be greatly missed by her husband: James; daughters: Loretta(Mark), Terri Lynn(Bill), Lisa(Phil); grandchildren: Nathan(Arnaldo), Stephanie(Reid), Kylie, Anthony, Angelo, Joseph; great-granddaughter: Adalynn; siblings: Wallace(Marlene), Marie(Bob), Tom, Hilda(Dorm), Christina(Peter), Patsy(Jack), Barbara(Emerson), Jean, Stella(Gerard), Shirley(Vince), Shiela(Roy), Marg(Andy), Betty, Debbie(Luke); in-laws: Glynn(Carolann), Gloria(Bill), Cheryl. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of close friends. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Angela; parents: John & Blanche Duffy; parents-in-law: Roy & Ann Abbott; in-laws Burl, Tony, Lavern, Debbie, Linda and her brother Butch. Special thanks to the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home, the 2nd floor nursing staff, Dr. Hanna, the Palliative Care Unit Nursing staff, with a very special thank you going to Michelle King & Dr Lafferty. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home 4 St. Marks Ave Sunday, October 20th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 21st at 10:30am at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue, Corner Brook with Monsignor Noon officiating, followed by the interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Children’s Wish Foundation.
