Mary Ellen Wiseman

The Wiseman family regretfully announce the peaceful passing of Mary Ellen (Coombs) Wiseman on November 20, 2018 in her 99th year. Mary was the cherished matriarch for the entire family, through celebration and adversary, throughout its living memory. She has left an unwavering spirit, ingrained in the grateful hearts of those who now see her onward. She leaves to mourn: her sons Basil (Andrena, dec.) of Corner Brook and William (Frances) of St. John's, sister Patricia Dooley (John dec.) of Chicago IL, grandchildren Kristian (Serena) of Benoit’s Cove, Gabrielle (Josh) of St. John's, Kyle (Heather) of Vernon, BC, William (Gillian) of St. John's, Warren Gash (Deanna) of Ottawa ON, Dawn Larkin (Mark) of Kentville NS, Gillian Williams (Chris) of Halifax, NS. As well, a close family of 9 great-grandchildren and a large group of nieces and nephews. Mary made innumerable friends as well in the 65 years that she made 58 Central Street her home, with open doors and a welcoming heart. Mary is predeceased by: her husband William Wiseman, her parents, Kenneth and Sarah Coombs of Howley, her daughter Elizabeth Duhart (Darryl) and her siblings Walter, Harry, Margaret Dollmont, Philomena Roberts, Madeline Packwood, Norah Samms. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday, November 22 from the hours of 1:00-3:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel with Father Jim Robertson officiating.
