Sophia Leona Connolly

Benoit’s Cove, NL It is with great sadness that we the family of the late Sophia Leona Connolly (nee Gallant) announce her sudden passing on February 14, 2018 at the age of 61. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 30 years Brian; daughter Leanna; and the pride and joy of her life, her granddaughter Abigail; mother Vinnie Gallant of Benoit’s Cove; sister Gloria (Patrick); brother Richard (Colleen); step-sister Olive of Mount Pearl, NL; sister-in-law Marie (Neil) Reddy, Leona Batstone, Mary (Dave) Hackett, Sandra Meaney, Gertie (Paul) Pederson, Diane Connolly; brother-in-law Donald Connolly; a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her pets: Sophie and Tinkerbelle. Sophia was predeceased by her loving father Joseph Gallant; father and mother-in-law Captain Tony Connolly & Della Connolly; grandparents: Alonzo & Jane Gallant, Henry & Ellen Parsons; brothers-in-law: Bern Connolly and Robert Batstone; and step-sister-in-law Regina Benoit. Visitation for family and friends was held at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, on Friday, February 16, 2018 from the hours of 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Benoit’s Cove on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11am with father Jim Robertson officiating. Cremation to follow after the funeral service, interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, and/or memorial donations can be made to the Our Lady Star of the Sea Church Fund.
