It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winifred (Winnie) Mary Pike announce her peaceful passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the age of 88 years. She will be sadly missed by her four sons: Brian Pike of Stephenville, Tony (Irina) Pike of Sarnia, ON, Keith (Trudy) Pike of Mount Pearl, Michael Pike of Dartmouth, NS, two daughters: Margaret Hutchings of St. John’s, Lois McGrath (Stephen) of Sackville, NS, two brothers: Hubert (Helen) Miles of Whitby, ON, Robert (Shirley) Miles of Stewiacke, NS, two sisters: Marie (Gordon) Caines of Pool’s Cove, Brenda (Larry) Hurley of Wasaga Beach, ON, seven grandchildren: Jessica, Gordon, Christina, Katie, Gregory, Sarah, Ronald, three great-grandchildren: Douglas, Kayleigh, Ellie-Mae, and a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald Pike, parents Wilson and Frances Miles, brothers: George, John, sisters: Dorothea, Barbara, and Eileen. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home in Stephenville on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11 am from St. Augustine’s Parish, Hillview Ave. with interment to follow at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 35, or a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated. A special thank you to the wonderful nurses who shared in her care during her hospital stay and to the staff and residents of the Silverwood Manor who welcomed her so warmly.
