What can we say, they always have and always will have a special place in our hearts.
Some more than others; but we have learned something or some lesson in life through our teachers. Whether it be a simple game of cards during down time, or a really important life lesson.
Some teachers can fill the void that parents don't always get to fill. They watch over us and protect us, or they should and in most cases they did, and hopefully still do.
Children spend the better part of the day with teachers. I personally don't know how they did it or how they all coped; especially substitute teachers who deserve a medal. Oh my, the things they put up with. Almost every day I told my son, 'Be nice and respectful of your teachers, especially the substitute teachers.'
They really needed their workshops and to get away from being in the class so many days out of the school year. They deserve their summer breaks as well. A lot of teachers have to take teaching jobs away from their communities and family — the summer break is a great time for them to reconnect.
I absolutely love running into former teachers. It's like running into an old friend really. You don't realize the impact they had on your lives until you're grown up and living away.
Teachers, keep up the good work! Or the very best you can do, just like a parent. We all make mistakes and we always learn from them. Children really do look up to you for guidance and direction. They will cherish their learnings and life lessons, and even though they may not realize it at the time, they will appreciate them later as an adult.
Kudos to you all!
