Western regional tryouts for the Baseball NL girls 16U provincial team will be taking place in Pasadena and Corner Brook on Saturday.
The Pasadena session is scheduled for 9-11 a.m. at Bennett Ball Field, while the Corner Brook session will be from 1-3 p.m. at Jubilee Field.
Players should attend both Pasadena and Corner Brook sessions and will be free for a lunch break from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
If Saturday’s weather is inappropriate for outdoor activity, tryouts will proceed indoors at the Corner Brook Civic Centre Annex at the same aforementioned times.
A communication on the decision of outdoors or indoors will be made late this evening or early Saturday morning.
Cost of the tryout is $35 and players should register online at www.baseballnl.com. Registration will also be accepted onsite.
Following regional tryouts, selected players will be invited to attend a final tryout camp on June 9-10 in St. John’s. From there, a final roster will be announced on or before June 24. The team can carry a maximum of 18 players, including three overage players.
Players selected must be able to attend the final camp in St. John’s from Aug. 19-21, and the nationals in Bedford, N.S. from Aug. 23-27.
