A 6-2 victory over Team Follett from St. John’s on Friday powered the Mackenzie Mitchell rink of Corner Brook to the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta.

A big four-point fifth end was the key for the local rink, which also features Sarah McNeil Lamswood, Mikayla O’Reilly and Ainsleigh Piercey, in the provincial championship-clinching victory.

The Mitchell rink went 3-1 overall, with wins coming by scores of 7-4 and 7-3 over Team French, also of St. John’s, and 4-3 win, followed by a 6-5 loss, coming at the hands of Team Follett.
