Oke up to 4-0 at Canadian Masters Curling Championship

It’s now four wins and zero losses for Gary Oke at the Kings County 2016 Canadian Masters Curling Championship in Kentville, N.S.

The Corner Brook Curling Club and Newfoundland and Labrador representative rink — also including Roy Hodder, Jim Goodyear and George King — recorded their most recent victory Tuesday afternoon, a 5-3 decision against Gordon Williams of Northern Ontario.

Oke’s best end was the third, where he put up a pair of points, before adding singles in the fifth, sixth and seventh ends.

Williams had two in the fourth and one in the second.

In an earlier contest, Oke came away with a 9-3 decision over Louis Walsh of Prince Edward Island.

Oke ended strong in this one, scoring a big three points in both the fifth and seventh ends. He also scored singles in the first, third and sixth ends.

Walsh replied with two points in the fourth and a solo point in the second.

Oke is back in action 11 a.m. today against Quebec’s Jacques Taillon (2-1).
