A knack around the net.

That’s something that Felicia Park has going for her in the early going of the Corner Brook Women’s Soccer League.

A multi-sport athlete, Park booted home two goals to lead the Shamrocks to a 3-1 victory over Veitch’s in recent action at the Wellington Street Sports Complex.

Park opened the scoring at 27 minutes and sealed the deal with the winner when she found the back of the net at 54 minutes.

Katherine Hearn scored the other goal for the winning side.

Jennifer Lombard, at the 40-minute mark, scored for Veitch’s.

In other league play, Stephenville posted a 3-0 win over the Corner Brook Under-18 squad in a game also played at the Wellington Street Sports Complex.

Taylor Fradsham, Candace Hopkinson and Jessica Fradsham scored for the Stephenville entry.

League action resumes Sunday with the Shamrocks tangling with the Rangers 7 p.m. at Wellington Street Sports Complex.

Meanwhile, the Corner Brook senior men’s soccer league began regular season play earlier this week.

Paul Prosper and Nyc Pappas scored for Flynn’s Tactics FC in a 2-2 draw against the expansion Ford Mustangs in a game played earlier this week at Wellington.

Jake Wescott and Chris Downey scored for the Mustangs.

The only other scheduled game on the men’s side, featuring the Masters and Clancy’s ended up as a forfeit and a 1-0 win for the Stephenville squad after the Masters side couldn’t field enough players for the game.
