The X in XFL might as well stand for Not – as in happening – for Jake Ceresna.

Garnering interest from at least two teams in pro-wrestling magnate Vince McMahon’s reboot of his failed former football league, the Edmonton Eskimos defensive tackle won’t be pursuing any spring football ahead of CFL training camp in mid-May.

“There was a chance I could do both,” Ceresna said, pointing out the XFL championship game will be played on April 26. “But then I think they have a 10 game regular season, then I’d have an 18-game regular season, so that’d be 28 games in one year.

“And also, because it’s a new league, I don’t think they will have a Players Association and I don’t know what happens if you get injured. And so those also were decisions in making my decision.”
