The Hockey Night in Meadows charity game went ahead Saturday night.
The matchup featured a showdown between The Western Star and the Meadows Heroes with proceeds going towards the construction of a roof above the town's outdoor rink.
There was some slick passing, deft stickhandling and plenty of end-to-end rushes. Weezing usually followed those rushes, but it was all in good fun.
While The Western Star claimed a 17-15 victory in a high scoring affair, the score was an afterthought to the goal of the evening.
In the end, some $700 was raised during the contest.
