With a 9-5 win on Saturday night in Lewisporte, the Dennis GM Western Kings locked down first place in the provincial major midget hockey league standings and home-ice advantage for the playoffs.

As has often been the case for the Kings, the goals came from a few different sources in the win.

Liam Smith (2), Mark Randell, Noah Legge, Brady Parsons, Skyler Coates, Kris Thomas, Andrew Antle and Adrian Ward lit the lamp in this case.

Evan Bennett (2), Jeff Fewer, Jacob Walsh and Joseph Toope responded for the IcePak.

Lucas Park picked up the win in net over Will Brown.

On Sunday, the Kings pulled out a 6-5 overtime in over the IcePak, with Malcolm Genge supplying the dagger.

Drew Cornick, Andrew Antle, Noah Legge, Liam Smith and Jonathan Anderson did the rest.

Central goalscorers were not available at press time.

Kirklin Young earned the win, with Jack Cameron coming away with the defeat.
