Shamrocks scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning en route to a 6-5 win over Holy Cross Tuesday evening at St. Pat’s Ball Park in the opening game of the best-of-seven St. John’s Molson intermediate baseball final

Jaxson Gulliver drove in three runs for the Shammies, while Graham King tossed a complete-game win, working his way around seven hits and eight walks while striking out 10.

Jacob Reid (2W, 7K) of Holy Cross also went the distance on the mound, allowing four earned runs.

Eric McKay had two hits and three stolen bases for the Crusaders, who couldn’t quite tie the game, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh.

Game 3 of the best-of-seven St. John's senior final is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. this evening at St. Pat's.The senior Shamrocks hold a 2-0 lead over Feildians in that series.
