Radical Steel — the team featuring Corner Brookers Keith Simonds, Darren Simmonds, Rick Reid and my brother Dean Kean, along with Deer Lake native Randy Reid — picked up its first win of the 2018 World Broomball Championships in Blaine, Minn. on Thursday.
The club downed the Australia Dingoes 4-0, with Randy Reid supplying a goal and Keith Simmonds picking up an assist. It was Simmonds’ second point, both assists, of the tournament.
In its other game on Thursday, the Steelers were downed 3-1 by HPQ Silicon of Canada.
They wrap up their round-robin today versus the Calgary Blazers.
Radical Steel are currently tied for seventh place in the eight-team setup, with a 1-4-1 record.
