It all came down to the seventh and final inning between the Rapid Power Bees and Whelan’s Gate Gators.
In the end, the Bees outscored the Gators 5-4 in the seventh to earn a 12-11 triumph in Tuesday night action from the Corner Brook Molson Ladies Fastpitch Softball league on Tuesday evening.
Ashley Penney was a force for the victors, scoring three runs and driving in another two in a 3-for-3 effort, with four stolen bases.
Nicole Goulding and Nicole Wells were both 3-for-4 in the win. Goulding drove in four runs and scored a run, with one stolen base. Wells stole four bases and scored two runs. Kayla Brake was 2-for-4, scoring three times and picking up two RBIs. She stole one base.
Coolene Brake led the way for the losing side, scoring three runs in a 3-for-5 night. Kathy Lukeman registered four RBIs and a run scored while going 2-for-5.
Lorna Lovell was the winning pitcher, scattering nine hits over seven innings, with 11 walks and five strikeouts.
