A team by the name of Radical Steel has brought a fair Corner Brook representation to the 2018 World Broomball Championships in Blaine, Minn.
Keith Simmonds, Darren Simmonds, Rick Reid and Dean Kean have suited up with the club in the men’s masters division of the championships.
The team currently sports a 0-1-1 record after opening day action on Tuesday.
They dropped a 2-1 decision to the Sun Devils of the United States in their first game, with Keith Simmonds drawing an assist on the team’s lone goal. Adam Sexton scored it, with Carson Sparkel picking up the other helper.
In their second game, they played Home Grown, also of the U.S., to a 0-0 draw.
The squad is back on the ice again for a pair of games against Fat Les Selects of Canada and Most Wanted, also of Canada, today.
