DEER LAKE, N.L. — On Thursday evening, the Deer Lake Skating Club held its annual yearend ice show at the Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex.

This year the skaters performed to a circus theme with the stadium decorated to look like a circus tent and skaters dressed as circus performers.

There were circus booths selling treats and venders selling goods in the stands. The theme was “Feel the Magic Up Close” and the sounds of circus music along with the smell of fresh popcorn and other treats helped the theme come to life. Guest skaters were the Silver Sensations and Silver Sparkle skating teams from the Silver Blades of Corner Brook.

Julie Elms and Kyla Kendell skated a duet before leading the clowns onto the ice. Both girls were runner-up award winners.
