The offense of Whelan's Gate was rolling Tuesday evening in Corner Brook.

Squaring off with the Rapid Power Bees in ladies' fastpitch softball action, Whelan's Gate picked up 7 hits and 11 runs en route to a 11-1 victory.

While, the Bees mustered seven hits of their own, they could push only the single run across homeplate.

Coolene Brake scatted seven hits in six innings of work on the mound and walked just two batters en route to the victory.

Lorna Lovell and Jillian Wells combined to allow seven hits, but walked five batters each in the game.

Katie Evans paced the offense for Whelan's Gate by picking up four hits in four plate appearances and knocking in three runs. Meanwhile, Melanie Powell had a pair of doubles and two runs batted in for the victors. Also helping out was Danielle Hurley who one hit on the evening.

For the Rapid Power Bees, Ashley Penney had a pair of hits while Jillian Wells, Lorna Lovell and Nicole Wells had one hit apiece in defeat.
