The offensive attack of the U15 boys Western Wolves had some bite to it over the weekend in Corner Brook, as the team won all three games against visiting St. John’s Academy in action from the provincial U15 boys Tier 2 soccer league.
On Sunday at the Monarchs Complex, the Wolves rolled to a 7-2 triumph thanks to a three-goal effort by Heinrich Potgieter.
Logan Raggerty chimed in with two goals, while Ben Smith and Preston Wheeler put up single markers.
Bashar Heddo and Tyler Curnew replied for the St. John’s squad.
On Saturday, things were a little closer as Jordan Dicks Park notched the lone goal in a 1-0 win for Western at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
The Wolves opened the weekend with a 3-1 win on Friday.
Keegan Piercey, Logan Rafferty and Brock Tomyn did the damage in the victory.
Casey Pearce was the lone marksman for St. John’s Academy.
The U17 Wolves salvaged their weekend on Sunday with a 2-2 tie against St. John’s at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
Brent Eason and Mark Randell provided the offence for the Wolves.
Owen Sheppard had both St. John’s goals.
St. John’s beat Western 3-0 on Saturday, with goals coming from Cabhan O’Keefe, Dylan Hartson and Andrew Gamba.
In Friday’s game, Alex Dolomount found the back of the net in a 1-0 win for St. John’s.
The U13 Wolves were on the road on the east coast, but came away with two losses, including a 2-0 defeat at the hands of St. John’s on Sunday.
Joseph Martin and Mark Lawlor scored for St. John’s.
On Saturday, the Wolves dropped a 4-2 decision to Feildians.
Luca Rotondi (3) and Ryan Bonnell bulged the twine for the victors.
Ian Wall and Ryan Brake struck for the Wolves.
