TERMS & CONDITIONS – By subscribing to the print/and or digital subscription services offered by The Western Star and/or SaltWire Network, as applicable (in this agreement “we”, “us”, “our”), you agree that:
Subscription offers may be subject to eligibility criteria, which will be disclosed at the time of the offer. Unless otherwise stated, subscription offers and other promotions are limited to one per person, are void where prohibited by law and cannot be combined. We may revoke, terminate, cancel or modify any subscription offer at any time.
Fees are in Canadian dollars and do not include applicable taxes. You are responsible for paying all fees and applicable taxes in accordance with your subscription order. Subscription prices may vary from time to time.
Your account expiry date is based on the current rates, which could be subject to change within the current term. In the event of a price increase or a change in publication frequency, we reserve the right, with a minimum 30-day notice, to apply the new rates to your subscription account on the increase/change date and modify the effective expiry date of your account. We are not responsible for any NSF fees incurred. An NSF fee of $25.00 will be applied to all returned items.
Subscriptions may be offered on a fixed term or pre-authorized monthly debit basis; however, all subscriptions are continuous and will continue until cancelled. Subscribers may be required to choose to commit to an initial subscription term of 12 months or longer.
PRINT PUBLICATION DELIVERY SUSPENSIONS
When you are away, we understand you do not want the paper delivered. We are happy to suspend your delivery and restart it upon your return.
For temporary suspensions of 28 days or less in duration, applicable charges continue to apply until the end of the current billing cycle or 28 days, whichever is earlier. The digital replica of our printed newspaper and access to thewesternstar.com are always available to you. *Temporary suspensions are offered for print delivery only.
For temporary suspensions of 29 consecutive days or longer in duration (up to a total of 120 consecutive days), we will continue to charge your account for the first 28 days of the suspension. Starting on the 29th day of home delivery suspension, we will provide you with a credit with the remainder of consecutive suspension days, (up to a maximum of 120 days), by extending your home delivery subscription for a term equal to the remainder of the suspension. The digital replica of our printed newspaper and access to TheWesternStar.com are always available to you at thewesternstar.com. If you forget your login and password, simply contact customer care at 1-709-634-4348. *Temporary suspensions are only offered for print delivery.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
One-time purchases (by the day) cannot be cancelled or refunded. Effective March 15, 2019, you may request a cancellation of your subscription service with the understanding that applicable charges continue to apply until the end of the 28-day notice period or until the end of the then-current billing period, whichever is earlier. To cancel your subscription service, please contact The Western Star by phone 1-709-634-4348. Access to both the print and digital subscription service will cease on the effective date of cancellation. In most cases, refunds will be issued in the manner received. ** Refunds are not provided for amounts of $10.00 or less. Please allow three to four weeks for processing.
NON-PRINT PUBLISHING DAYS
We reserve the right to introduce non-print publishing days during which time content will still be provided to subscribers through both e-paper and website access. Expiry dates and/or pre-authorized payment amounts will not be extended or adjusted.
CHANGES TO DIGITAL CONTENT
We reserve the right to make changes to our digital products at any time. If we temporarily reduce or eliminate the charges for new subscriber content or access; the terms of your current subscription remain intact and no refund will be issued.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure the availability of our digital services but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Should any of our digital products be temporarily unavailable to you, no refund will be issued.
MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to make changes to these Terms and Conditions, in whole or part, at any time. You will be given advance notice of any new fees, changes to current fees or other material changes to your subscription by notification methods including but not limited to email, postal mail or notice published on our website or the printed edition of our publications.
These Terms and Conditions replace all previous versions of the Terms and Conditions. We may update or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time. Your continued use of a Service constitutes your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
