CORNER BROOK: Weather bomb blows through

Another powerful fall storm racing across the region has triggered wind warnings, snowfall and winter storm warnings for Corner Brook and Western Newfoundland. On Wednesday, strong south winds will turn to the west and gust as high as 80 km/h. The system is moving very quickly, but dangerous travel conditions behind the storm will linger thanks to that very strong west then north-west wind. The cold wind will bring falling temperatures, significant wind chill and onshore snow. Locally, snow amounts could reach 10 to 15 cm in the wind-driven squalls off the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The break between systems will be brief as another fall storm is expected to track south of the Avalon on Saturday.
