CORNER BROOK: Saving the best for sunday
- Bay of Exploits, Bonavista, Buchans and interior, Burgeo, Channel-Port aux Basques, Connaigre, Deer Lake – Humber Valley, Gander and Vicinity, Grand Falls – Windsor, Green Bay – White Bay and Terra Nova
- Snowfall totals: 15 to 20 cm tonight and Saturday.
The latest in a parade of fall storms is crossing the region and should sit east of the Avalon by Saturday afternoon. Behind the very messy weather maker, a narrow ridge of high pressure is building in for Sunday. As a cold wind settles in from the north-west, we can expect gradual clearing but with more onshore snow developing along west facing coastlines. Daytime high temperatures will remain 4 to 6° below seasonal values. The next weather system will be a weak Alberta Clipper and because it’s travelling through so quickly, Corner Brook shouldn’t get much more than 5 cm of snow. Again, behind this system, onshore winds will bring back the snow squalls. . . they could total 5 to 10 cm on Wednesday.
