CORNER BROOK: Bright but dangerously cold

A sprawling Prairie High continues to pump unseasonably cold air down across the region. The persistent northwest wind is responsible for dangerously cold wind chill – in the -30 to -40 range! However, the cold will keep the next snow system south of the region. The northern edge of the sinking low could brush the SW corner of the Island with a dusting, but that’s about it. Cold weather remains in place right into the final weekend of the month. We can expect a warming trend on Monday ahead of the next snowmaker. This one is not going to miss us. Get ready for 10 to 15 cm of new snow Monday.
