CORNER BROOK: Freeze-up follow risk of flooding!
A weather warning is now in effect. Click here to view all affected communities.
We are going to experience two seasons this weekend. As a sloppy system tracks north of the region, south wind is pulling in unseasonably mild air. The colder side of the system will bring 10 cm of snow to Labrador City and 5 cm or so for western parts of the Island. The spring-line side of the low will bring us anywhere from 20 to 40 mm of rain. The rapid warm up and the rainfall could cause localized flooding. As the weather maker pulls away late Saturday, the wind will come around to the west and north-west and invite winter back to region. A stalled low over the Labrador Sea will pump cold air down on us until the later part of next week; expect below normal temperature, significant wind chill and persistent onshore snow along the west coast!
