We started the week with a blocking ridge of high pressure overhead. It has weakened and our weather is taking a turn for the worse. Moisture on the leading edge of an approaching system will bring an ice pellet mix followed by a changeover to snow Wednesday morning. Snowfall totals could reach 5 cm before the snow ends during the afternoon. The break will be brief – another pulse of snow will slide in Thursday with a raw east wind and another 5 cm of snow. Meanwhile a northern high pressure system will serve up some sun and comfortable temperature across Labrador. Expect to see some sunshine with seasonal temperatures are we make our way through the final weekend of April. The weekend will be messy across Labrador with rain followed by snow.
