CORNER BROOK: Sunday's synopsis - snow, freezing rain, rain and wind ...

An intensifying Colorado low has Western NL in its crosshairs. Snow is expected to start early Sunday afternoon and spread eastward quite quickly. The centre of the storm will track just off the west coast allowing warm air to flood the region. The snow will change to a mix of freezing rain and ice pellets before going over to rain. Snowfall totals will range from 5 to 15 cm; rainfall totals could be as high as 60 mm. The colder side of the system could dump another 5 to 10 cm of snow on its way out. Labrador City will be on the outside looking in. A few flurries are possible, but overall it will be bitterly cold with wind chill ranging from -40 to -45! Believe it or not, another sloppy system could be headed this way by Thursday.
