It might be spring, but it is still March. A developing weather maker is expected to intensify as it moves in on the weekend. Patchy freezing drizzle leads the way then a strong south wind will pull warm air across the region making this a rain and wind event - at least initially. As the system moves out, the mild wind will shift to the NW triggering onshore snow and cooling things down. Snowfall totals will range from 2 to 4 cm with higher amounts along the west coast. The next weather system will approach from the southwest and bring more flurries as it crosses central Newfoundland on Tuesday.
