We’re back today with another terrific “grown-up” art submission.

Weather by Day has long featured art by budding young artists, but recently, I have met quite a few “grown-ups” who have picked up crayons, pencils, markers, paint brushes and even fabrics to find their focus.

If you’ve recently discovered your artistic talent or simply picked up a crayon for the first time in years, I’d like to feature your artwork on Weather By Day.

You can send a photo of a recent work of art along with a line or two about your inspiration or your reason for picking up the crayons after so many years, to weathermail@weatherbyday.ca.

Today’s featured artist are Bob Groves of Bedford, N.S. and Brian Millett.

Angry Seas, by Bob Groves

By Bob Groves After 27 years in the Air Force and another 20 at Acadia University I retired to Bedford and started oil painting. At 81 I certainly qualify for the ‘’grown up ‘’ part. As for artistic talent have dabbled in cartoons for years. I call this work "Angry Seas."

By Brian Millett

My son Brian surprised me with this painting of my Dad, Brian’s grandfather, shortly after Dad’s death. Dad loved to garden! Part of the reason he won provincial senior of the year 2014 was his sharing of his harvest with his friends and neighbours. (Brian is not a trained artist; he started on his own in his thirties.) - Contributed by Maryann Millett, Chester Grant
