The freeze/thaw/freeze cycle that the Avalon Penninsula, N.L., has been experiencing is not all bad - not when you are a climber of frozen waterfalls.

It looks terrifying to me, but Jason Edwards says that ice climbers are obsessed with safety!  What appears unsafe to bystanders is actually a carefully orchestrated combination of diligence, experience and gear.
